The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.
Factory Automation specialist to assist software development team with the integration and testing of factory automation features in a new release of software. Serves as the central technical resource / interface with design engineering and the customer to ensure that the factory automation requirements are understood and met. Will be fully integrated and working directly with aforementioned teams to incorporate value added test strategies and factory automation implementation at the customer. Works to identify and resolve issues within the system software and/or customer FA scripts. Involvement lasts throughout alpha and beta development phases. Drives continuous improvement of software test strategies and FA knowledge within the Pro Software team.
Job Scope and Complexity
• Must have strong knowledge of Factory Automation requirements and test strategies for 200mm and 300mm wafer fabs.
• Influence early SW design and SQC test strategies for factory automation.
• Help to define a plan, implement, and optimize the factory automation testing during alpha and beta testing for a new product release.
• Act as a two-way conduit of information between the design team and the customer to ensure factory automation requirements are met per Semi Standards.
• Very adept at 7-step trouble-shooting, including driving learning and standardization where appropriate.
• Able to step into a difficult beta and sustaining escalation, analyze data from various sources, and, working with divisional experts when necessary, provide a detailed action plan suitable for execution by Customer Service Engineer (CSE) and Technical Support Engineer (TSE).
• Hands-on work for validating factory automation performance of Alpha/Beta systems.
Results oriented and driven to excel. Enjoys teaching, troubleshooting, working with groups of people, and explaining complex things as simply as possible. Strong analytic and data analysis skills. Experience with analytical software such as log analysis or factory automation simulation is desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams and to take a leadership role when needed. Quick grasp of challenging, complex technical information. Natural curiosity, inventiveness, and an interest in making things work better.
Qualifications: BS or higher in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field. Hands-on experience designing, building, and/or troubleshooting complex instruments, such as experimental research instruments. Knowledge of optics, electronics, software, and/or mechanical systems. Availability for travel both domestically and internationally (<25% time). Ability to work non-standard working hours if needed.
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience. OR Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.
