The Information Technology (IT) group at KLA is involved in every aspect of the global business. Corporate Information Technology (IT) partners with each division in KLA to develop, engage and promote global enterprise solution leading the way with innovations which meet the business’ needs.

IT is responsible for delivering consultative services in support of our world-wide design engineering teams to meet our strategic objectives of bringing new products to market Better, Faster, and Cheaper.

KLA IT department is responsible for providing solutions to technical and strategic challenges in product development so as to improve product time to market and operational excellence and create a competitive advantage through Information Technology

Responsibilities

Unix System Analyst main role is to work with Application and Infrastructure team in keeping the Health and Hygiene of Unix/Linux Infrastructure, understanding the needs for project landscape and expansion. Provide support for trouble tickets with ITIL methodologies and deliver improvements per agreed SLAs. Recommends new insights and/or efficiency opportunities. Works on and coordinates several key Infrastructure deliverables and be a part of related project team.

This individual will be responsible for Global support for Solaris, Linux, Storage systems and Data Center Services. Responsibilities on these systems also include build, day to day support and maintenance. Work in a team from different time zones. Configure cross-platform authentication (Solaris/Linux with AD). Perform ongoing performance tuning, resource optimization as the need arises, periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning. Work with the SAP Basis and Application team to gather new landscape requirements.

Excellent communication skills required - high level English language communication skill, oral and written at peer and to senior level management. Shown accomplishments under challenging situations and constraints. The right candidate will be dynamic and upbeat individual who is very passionate about delivering rich and powerful solutions. Position requires communicating with different functional groups like Engineering, IT, Field Team and Vendors

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Solid experience in installation, configuration and support of Solaris and Linux (5+ years) in a global enterprise environment
  • Proficient in Linux or UNIX CLI and Shell / Perl scripting
  • Experience with sparc based Solaris and various Linux flavors such as Red hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Scientific Linux and Ubuntu
  • Hands-on experience on troubleshooting, monitoring, upgrading Oracle hardware and software.
  • Handled Oracle HW and Solaris environment on sparc platform – HW like T5, T7 – OS like Solaris 9, 10,11 with containers, logical domains and zone
  • Experience of handling VERITAS cluster server (VCS) with Solaris
  • Deep understanding of Linux internals (system calls, file systems, processes, etc.)
  • Familiar with enterprise network architectures with large and sophisticated Linux environments
  • Knowledge on SAP and related Oracle Databases
  • Prefer to have experience in cloud technologies, ITIL Process
  • Exposure to Project Management skills

Qualifications

Master's level degree with 4 years of experience OR

Bachelor's Level Degree with 5 years of experience OR

10 Years of Equivalent IT system admin experience in a global enterprise enironment

Certification on Solaris and Linux is a plus
