Group/Division

KLA has manufacturing sites across the globe, including Belgium, China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and Milpitas (CA).  The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation, and Quality, is responsible for manufacturing our leading-edge technology.  We partner with our world-wide supply base and our design engineering teams to bring new products to market.  The GOPS team is continuously working to build our products Better, Faster, Cheaper.

Responsibilities

Focus on customer and problem resolution. Provide solutions to moderate and complex problems of defined scope.  Works in complex area with general supervision and support. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Perform routine problem diagnosis (on site or by remote) and problem resolution for characterization, demos, or field projects.

  • Initiate and lead projects to address strategic customer issues.
  • Evaluate and test new hardware and software engineering techniques for applicability to KT products. Direct the technical efforts of several project teams or work independently to meet the general objectives of a major KT program or initiative.
  • Provide guidance and direction to ensure adequate performance to specifications is achieved.  Develop corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Act as a technical expert resource in drive complex customer tool performance issues. Technical Expertise is sought in Customer meeting/OC; represents KT as product technical expertise to external organizations
  • Document technical work and create best known methods (BKMs) on released products. Driving field adoption of Knowledge Management systems (SP KP)
  • Participate on service alert calls with field service engineers to help evaluate and resolve tool issues.
  • Provide support during H2H, Eval, beta testing, and gap analysis.
  • Contribute to service alert plan (POA) development. Use Product knowledge systems in the development of POAs. Document any improvements need to knowledge data or systems.
  • Perform CSE assist with phone support or E-mail response as follow the sun coverage requirement. Respond and own L1 to L3 Escalation support with plan of action and on-site support.
  • Play a lead role in presenting technical facts; influence and advice all levels management on product hardware and software issues impacting tool performance.
  • Manage and lead new product introduction/Ramp readiness.
  • Supervise super-region escalations and often act as decision maker for resource allocation plans;
  • Drive new troubleshooting concepts into technical teams and field service.
  • Assist in Field request for planned backfill to address business needs
  • Target time in the fab is approx 20-40%
  • Target time in training (receiving) is approx 50%

Qualifications

Must: BSC/MSC in Mechanical / System Engineering 

Skills:

Able to learn new technical skills, knowledge quickly, especially when facing a new problem, open to change, analyze both successes and failures for clues to improvement; experiments and will try anything to find solutions; enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks; quickly grasps the essence and the underlying structure of anything

Able to present in a variety of formal presentation settings; is effective both inside and outside the organization on both cool data and hot/controversial topics, command attentions and can manage group process during the presentation; can change tactics in midstream when some things is not working.

Is able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; can get messages across that have the desired effect. Strong communication skills especially technical writing skills in English.
