Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Responsibilities

a)      This individual will use his/her skills in systems engineering, electronics, algorithms, and software to develop, improve, document, and support system diagnostics and calibration software to be integrated into Product 8xx.

b)      Participate in some Project 8xx Meetings, specifically concerning EBeam Column Tuning algorithms; EBeam Diagnostic software tool design, test, integration, and debugging; and software interfaces to electro-optic controls and image processing algorithms.

c) Analyze image data and algorithm results to test, debug, and verify successful integration of Project 8xx EBeam Column Calibration software tools.

d) Document 8xx Diagnostics software as-written, and develop new documents including new designs as needed to resolve calibration tuning technical challenges that may arise.  Documents specifically will include Software Requirements Specifications, Excel Spreadsheet tables and analyses, and PowerPoint presentations explaining the software design concepts and strategies. 

e) Participate in or lead document and design Review meetings to refine and improve designs and documentation.

f) General consulting concerning all of the above, especially as-written 8xx Diagnostic software and already-written Software Requirements and design documents.

 

Qualifications

Required skills

a)      3+ years of experience with large-scale object-oriented software design.

b)      Excellent design, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

c)      5+ years of research lab experience with electron beam optics and beam metrology

d)      Excellent communication, including highly-practiced PowerPoint presentation skills.

e)      3+ years of professional developer experience with LabVIEW software language, and familiarity with Object-Oriented LabVIEW Actor Framework

f)      Knowledge of and laboratory exposure to electrical, mechanical and optical measurement instruments

g)    5+ years of professional experience with algorithms including image processing techniques, non-linear optimization methods (Levenberg-Marquardt, etc.), and statistical analysis of large data sets.

 

Preferred but not required

a)      PhD in applied physics, electrical engineering, optical engineering, or equivalent

b)      Hands on development in semiconductor business

c)      Knowledge of Python or other scripting language

 

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) with at least 2 years of experience.ORMaster's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.ORBachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
