The E-beam division of KLA is looking to add a Senior Research Engineer in the technology development group. The role of technology development group is to identify and develop next generation technologies to support the e-beam division roadmap. The position will manage technology development from the initial concept and design phase, through prototyping, and hand-off for productization.
Responsibilities will include:
Working with customers, division marketing and systems engineering teams to identify focus areas for technical improvement of existing products, simulation of electron optical elements, particle ray-tracing and other simulations, data reduction & analysis, and presentation.
Design of experiment for particle optics system characterization and critical risk retirement execution of said experimental plans, debugging of test setups. Analysis and presentation of results.
Communicate system requirements with other engineers including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, and SW requirements
Work with outside vendors to source key components as needed
A preferred candidate would have a background in electron microscopy including experience in electron optical design.
The position will require a broad skill set including simulation, theoretical understanding, and experimental execution.
The candidate should be comfortable with scripting and numerical analysis (Matlab or Python). Should be independent self-starter while also working well in teams and have good communication skills. Experience with vacuum systems and high voltage also a plus.
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 5 years of experience.
Master's Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience.
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 7 years of experience.
