With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.


  • Lead the development of one or more control subsystems for the next generation reticle inspection tool
  • Define architecture and generate code (C/C++) for embedded control software
  • Drive the design and build of tools and test benches for debugging, analysis, and evaluation of control system performance
  • Apply broad knowledge in sensors, actuators, control algorithms, automation, software, signal processing, and data analysis methods. Serve as a technical expert and mentor for junior engineers
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team including software, electrical, mechanical and optical engineers to define plans for system integration, testing and troubleshooting
  • Generate documentation for reviews including design specifications and procedures for testing and troubleshooting


The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-driven individual who has demonstrated success executing to aggressive schedules, a strong understanding of motion control theory and extensive experience in motion control algorithm development, tuning, and embedded software (C/C++) implementation for servo control systems.

Experience in one or more of the following: C/C++, Python, Matlab, LabView

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) with at least 3 years of experience. OR Master's Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience. OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience.
