With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes.    

BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.



  • Candidate will be responsible for prototyping and developing sophisticated algorithms and  solutions to build next generation products.
  • Candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing and roll out of the solutions.
  • Candidate will be responsible for debugging multi-threaded, parallel and distributed high performance computing software applications to root cause any critical and complex reliability and performance issues in the field.
  • Candidate must possess good communication skills to work with several hardware and software interdisciplinary teams to understand the system/marketing requirements and to map them to software requirements and design.
  • Candidate should be able to  provide software solutions for critical customer gaps or issues. He/She should develop and evaluate concepts and designs for the next generation systems by conducting trade-off studies, identifying risk items and suggest mitigation plans.
  • Looking for a candidate who has a track record of academic and professional success as well as technical innovation. 



1. Doctorate (Academic) with at least 3 years of experience OR Master's Degree with at least 5 years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree with at least 6 years of experience. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

2. Expertise in object-oriented software design principles and skilled in Object Oriented languages including Java or C++ or Python.

3. Experience in designing, developinig multi-threaded, parallel and distributed high performance computing software applications.

4. Experience in  debugging multi-threaded, parallel and distributed high performance computing software applications to root cause any critical and complex reliability and performance issues in the field.

4. Ability to design, develop and debug software to control hardware including any of the following: electro-mechanical systems, opto-mechanical systems, data acquisition hardware, servo control systems, or robotics.

5. Good communication and leadership skills.


Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) with at least 2 years of experience.ORMaster's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.ORBachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
