SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.




Job Title: Apprentice Technical Support Engineer

Job Description Summary:


Working as part of the Technical Support team, you will be trained in Technical Authorship, Technical Illustration, Computer Aided design (CAD), Engineering Upgrades and Technical Training. Achieving HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering upon completion of the Apprentice scheme.


Add the end of the Apprenticeship fitting one of the following roles:

  • CAD Engineer - Creating technical drawings for installation floorplans.
  • Technical illustrator: - Creating technical illustrations for technical manuals.
  • Technical Author: - Creating technical Manuals.
  • Upgrades engineer: - Creating Technical upgrades kits for customer systems.
  • Technical Trainer: - Delivering Technical Training to SPTS customer’s.


This position may involve some international travel, sometimes at short notice, upon successful completion of the Apprentice scheme.
