With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.
The Surfscan group includes a team of engineers, technology development, apps engineers and product marketing focused on technology that enables wafer, IC and equipment manufacturers to develop, qualify and monitor their process tools. Defects and process non-uniformities detected on Surfscan equipment allow for early identification of yield excursions.
The flagship Surfscan products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and wafer defect inspection tools and systems for inspection of polished wafers, epi wafers and engineered substrates during the wafer fabrication process.
Product Role and Function in Semiconductor Manufacturing Process - Understands and gathers information on the larger view of how the product fits into the customer's manufacturing process and workflow. This includes sampling strategies, capacity requirements, and analysis methodologies. Understands and can tailor KT capacity and Value ROI models to customer's situation to benefit the sales process
Product Demo Support - The field point of contact and organizer of the product demo. Understands and communicates internally the content, success criteria, competitive presence, and timing requirements for product demo. Is able to influence and structure the customer's requirements to maximize demo success. Accompanies customer to HQ.
RFQ and STR response process - Field owner for RFQ and STR responses. Generates initial technical response and routes Factory Automation and Commercial sections appropriately. Works directly with Division Product Marketing in order to finalize technical specification responses. Responsible for capturing and negotiating all STRs required to secure FPA.
Technical Product Knowledge - Understands the basic theory of operations and core technology for a product. Ability to describe key subsystems, components and features and can lead discussion and chalk talks. Can technically articulate the historical product roadmap through the current product release and future products (when applicable).
Technical Sales Support - Able to build technical & economic arguments to support the sales process through the use of capacity models and COO models and compare with competition. Ability to articulate product value messages. Requires partnering with Marketing and Sales and effectively working in a matrix environment.
Leadership - Able to influence peers to accomplish program goals.
Is effective at supporting divisional and/or functional vision(s) and can work with the team to achieve the visionary goals with which they are challenged.
- MS/BS with 1-3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in engineering applications.
- Proficient in computer applications for data presentation and analysis.
- Ability to effectively convey ideas through oral and written communications.
- Proficient in the English language.
- Ability to multitask in a constantly changing work environment.
- Responsible working attitude and should be a team player.
- Good working knowledge (implies understanding as well as the ability to apply theories and concepts in a variety of circumstances) of customer processing knowledge.
- Good working knowledge of various applications.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic customer issues
- Strong communication skills especially technical writing skills.
- IC Fab process development experience is a plus.
- Knowledge in defect detection, metrology, and yield management is a plus.
