With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

First to deliver the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time.

EBeam’s mission encapsulates its role as the “eyes” of KLA’s product line, providing timely information on defects and critical locations on the wafer at the highest spatial resolution possible.  Customers use EBeam products alongside KLA patterned and bare wafer inspectors to quickly understand the nature of defects and other imperfections on product wafers and take action to correct the manufacturing process.



  • Work closely with SW and algorithm engineers to develop deep learning based tools to analyze large amounts of data generated by our tools.
  • Use Big Data results to define requirements for future generations of our tools.
  • Design and execute multi-disciplinary experiments to validate such requirements
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of engineering systems.

Be involved in other typical systems engineering tasks such as:

  • Respond to field escalations to resolve complex system performance problems by providing written plans of action by e-mail, phone or on-site hands-on assistance at customer sites worldwide.
  • Potentially travel to customer sites to help solve a persistent problem (total travel expected < 10%)
  • Write technical reports to communicate issues, analysis, technical assessments, system status, best-known-methods, and engineering recommendations.
  • Coordinate and perform root cause analysis to solve problems.
  • Interface closely with service, manufacturing, engineering and marketing team to define and optimize system performance and resolve performance issues.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors to perform and deliver sub-system products.



  • Have a working knowledge of precision instruments and control systems ideally relating to the semiconductor industry
  • Proficient with data analysis tools such as JMP, Matlab
  • Programming skills in Matlab and scripting languages, such as Python.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to clearly communicate with cross functional internal teams, division management, as well as external customers.
  • The candidate should be self-driven and a strong team player.
  • Ability to travel worldwide to support customer visits and possible execution of technical engagements in the field.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or related fields with 2 years of experience or
  • Masters degrees in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or related fields
