Manufacturing Design Engineer, Precision Stage

Group/Division

KLA has manufacturing sites across the globe, including Belgium, China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and Milpitas (CA).  The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation, and Quality, is responsible for manufacturing our leading-edge technology.  We partner with our world-wide supply base and our design engineering teams to bring new products to market.  The GOPS team is continuously working to build our products Better, Faster, Cheaper.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have Manufacturing Engineering responsibility over the following items:

  • Reticle stage ownership with regards to Operations & Manufacturing efforts
  • Integration within Design Engineering team to support early design of stages and related HW - support of design efforts
  • Technical support of both internal and external stage-related escalations
  • Documentation of all stage and related HW or SW for use by Manufacturing
  • Support of all stage-related spare parts (FRUs)
  • Training of Manufacturing personnel to build, test, troubleshoot all stage-related HW & SW
  • Supplier management for all stage-related technical issues (Domestic and International travel will be required)
  • Supplier management for all stage-related technical issues to ensure quality and on-time-delivery of high-tech components - includes supplier training and support

Qualifications

Successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Precision wafer/reticle stage expertise
  • Advanced knowledge of precision stage build processes, testing, & troubleshooting in a clean manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience with the manufacturing of semiconductor capital equipment
  • Working knowledge of high-vacuum systems
  • Experience with mag-lev stage technology
  • Previous work experience in managing technical issues with external suppliers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to execute on time while managing work efforts involving multiple internal & external stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum academic requirements:

  • Relevant Bachelors Degree with 7+ years of experience
  • Relevant Masters Degree with 5+ years of experience
  • Related Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience
