Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

First to deliver the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time.

EBeam’s mission encapsulates its role as the “eyes” of KLA’s product line, providing timely information on defects and critical locations on the wafer at the highest spatial resolution possible.  Customers use EBeam products alongside KLA patterned and bare wafer inspectors to quickly understand the nature of defects and other imperfections on product wafers and take action to correct the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • As the system engineering manager on a next-generation wafer inspector using electron beams, you will define the top-level system specifications, allocate requirements to the subsystems, calculate the system error budget, define and resolve interfaces and working parameters for the optimum hardware/software performance of the tool.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to predict tool performance to find areas for system improvement. You will apply logical and systematic conversions of the customer & market requirements to define this tool’s required operating point.
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Frequently interacts with functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas as well as suppliers. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
  • Manages the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. In some instances this manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.

Qualifications

  • BS degree plus 15 years, or Master's degree plus 10 years, or Ph.D. degree plus 6 years of relevant experience and accomplishments.
  • Experience with complex systems with multiple sub-systems delivering highest possible performance.
  • Experience with low-volume, high-complexity, high value tool development.
  • Experience within the semiconductor, analytical instrument, or other relevant industries.
  • Experience with inspection equipment development and/or electron beam systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) with at least 1 years of experience.ORMaster's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience.ORBachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience.
