Group/Division

SPTS wafer processing solutions include market-leading silicon etch, dielectric etch, dry-release etch, PVD, PECVD and molecular vapor deposition (MVD®), available with a range of wafer-handling options applicable to R&D, pilot production, or volume production environments. SPTS is headquartered and has its main manufacturing facility in Newport, UK, with additional manufacturing in Allentown, Pennsylvania. SPTS operates across 19 countries in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, and offers comprehensive service and spare parts support through a worldwide network of service centers and qualified local agents.

 

Responsibilities

As part of the Production Engineering team the Mechanical Draughtsperson role will be focused upon maintaining the Agile PLM database, associated engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.

The candidate must be highly self motivated with the drive to be able to produce and maintain CAD drawings to tight deadlines. They will have extensive knowledge of SolidEdge or an equivalent CAD package and the ability to work with Purchasing, Design Engineering and Manufacturing to fault find and correct mechanical production issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create new and up-revise existing part files, assembly files and mechanical drawings in SolidEdge
  • Raise Engineering Changes in response to problems identified in drawing data and implement using SolidEdge and Agile PLM
  • Technical support to production and suppliers to solve issues arising due to poor, in-adequate or incorrect mechanical documentation
  • Source and integrate alternative parts from mechanical OEM suppliers

 

Qualifications

Minimum of HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline

Skills and Experience:

  • The successful candidate will have extensive experience as a Mechanical Draughtsperson.
  • Experience in using a relevant CAD package eg. SolidEdge, Solid Works or Autodesk Inventor and familiarity with Design Manager would be advantageous
  • Good written and presentational skills, with the ability to accurately & clearly communicate complex issues
  • Good skills in regard to Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent attention to detail, organised and able to prioritise their own workload
