With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.
The Surfscan group includes a team of engineers, technology development, apps engineers and product marketing focused on technology that enables wafer, IC and equipment manufacturers to develop, qualify and monitor their process tools. Defects and process non-uniformities detected on Surfscan equipment allow for early identification of yield excursions.
The flagship Surfscan products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and wafer defect inspection tools and systems for inspection of polished wafers, epi wafers and engineered substrates during the wafer fabrication process.
The Surfscan-ADE division is hiring a software engineer intern to join the software development team at Milpitas to work on the family of Surfscan Inspection tools that are the best-in-class semiconductor inspection equipment in the industry. The role requires design and development of Software to run on cutting edge inspections tools. Candidate should be able to gather requirements from Systems Engineers, design and develop code that meets required performance specifications. The candidate should have solid fundamentals in math and be able to analyze large sets of data, perform modeling, design and develop highly optimized software that runs reliabily in a fully automated production environment.
Responsible for software development using Python or C++, C#
Participate in all stages of software development including deployment .
Experience in Object Oriented Programming with C++, C# (or Java) or Python highly preferred
Experience with Linux OS
Experience with general Software Principles and Product Lifecycle.
Experience with large software systems and multi-threaded software is required.
Experience with Cloud Computing Technology like Containers and Kubernetes is a plus
Experience with event streaming technologies like KAFKA is a plus
Experience with Go lan is a plus
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Master's in Computer science / Electronics / Electrical or equivalent field
