The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Product Training, and Technical Support.  The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.


Responsible for providing technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex electro/mechanical/optical equipment, computer systems and/or complex software.

Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.

Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering.

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Provides support to customer/users where the product is highly technical or sophisticated in nature.

Will be involved in product installation and training.

Will need to travel toversea o support customers worldwide as required.


Ph.D 3-5 years, Masters with 4-6 years, or Bachelors with 5-10 years’ experience.

Education or experience in integrated circuit manufacturing is preferred. 

  • Experience troubleshooting, servicing, maintaining or designing optical-based metrology and process control equipment utilizing spectroscopic ellipsometry and other reflectometry measurement techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Deeper understanding of each of the previous experience areas, plus:
    • Demonstrated ability or capability to influence engineering and drive continuous improvement.
    • Expertise in testing techniques and design of experiments.
    • Previous experience in evaluating and testing new application technologies or new product introduced.
    • Ability to set priorities and delegate tasks during critical situations where multiple issues must be handled simultaneously. A multi-tasker.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Good customer management skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in conceptualizing creative technical solutions and documenting them.
