Group/Division

KLA is well known for its high-performing business model which routinely produces significant profit margins and revenue. Key to supporting KLA business is the finance team that partners with corporate and global business organizations to provide expertise and guidance for developing and executing sound business models and practices.

The Finance organization consists of operations and corporate finance teams. The operations finance team influences business decisions by gathering the best available operations information, distilling it and making recommendations to our management team on the best course of action. The corporate team provides a broad range of services, such as financial planning, corporate accounting, tax, industry analysis and benchmarking, internal audits, SEC reporting and merger and acquisition support.

Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will perform a variety of duties in the accounting department which includes, but are not limited to, maintaining lease records under ASC 842, and accurate accounting and disclosure of KLA’s leases under ASC 842. The individual will report to the Technical Accounting Manager and must be adaptable and an independent contributor. The role requires exceptional level of detail, communication skills and an ability to work with various department within the organization.

What you'll do as a Senior Accountant:

  • Organize and maintain company-wide ASC 842 Lease records and system (Lease Harbor/Apex). Assist in lease accounting efforts including lease abstraction and interpretation
  • Prepare journal entries with proper documentation to account for KLA’s leases in accordance with ASC 842. Reconcile and certify various General Ledger accounts within monthly and quarterly deadlines
  • Analyze data for reconciliations, complete ad hoc reports with analytical components, and prepare trend/variance analysis and write-ups for senior management
  • Support the accounting team in meeting month/quarter end closing deadlines
  • Assist management on fulfilling audit requests and responding to any related inquiries from internal and external auditors
  • Organize and maintain updated accounting procedures respective to assigned tasks
  • Assist in various special projects as needed
  • Perform other duties & responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor

 

 

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree
- 3+ years of accounting experience

- CPA designation preferred, but not required

- Knowledge of GAAP and strong problem-solving skills to deal with complex transactions

- Must be flexible and be able to work under pressure and within short time constraints
- Detail-oriented, organized, able to multi-task and prioritize in fast-paced environment, with exceptional project and time management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills across multiple levels, functions, and locations
- Flexible team player
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience. OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.
