The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) is the world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced optical inspection tools for inline monitoring of process defects in advanced semiconductor factories.


  • Lead small projects.
  • Provide support during H2H, JDP, beta testing, YTS, and gap analysis.
  • Contribute to wafer test plan development.
  • Execute detailed customer wafer characterization with minimal supervision.
  • Respond to customer requests and perform routine to moderately complex problem diagnosis and problem resolution.
  • Document technical solution and create best known methods (BKMs) on supported products.
  • Lead preparation and demonstration of products to the customer base.

Provide advanced operational training to customers.

  • Interacts with customers to educate and coordinate activities.
  • Good working knowledge of customer use case.

Is expected to improve customer relations, understand customer needs, and solves moderately complex problems

  • Focus is on customer education and problem resolution.
  • Provide solutions to problems of defined scope.  Solves moderate to complex problems. Works in complex area with general supervision and support.
  • Independently determines methods and procedures on routine assignments, and receives more direct instructions on new assignments. Recognizes potential problems.

Ph.D. or Masters degree (Science or Engineering) or BS with 1-3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in engineering applications.

Includes previous level plus:

  • Understands engineering principles and techniques related to area project activities.  Working knowledge of major system components and their interactions.
  • Good working knowledge[1] of customer processing knowledge.
  • Good working knowledge of various applications.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic customer issues (e.g. separating service related issues from Applications).
  • Strong communication skills especially technical writing skills.

[1] Good working knowledge implies understanding as well as the ability to apply theories and concepts in a variety of circumstances.
