Cybersecurity Technical Internship

Group/Division

The Cybersecurity group at KLA is involved in every aspect of the global business. The KLA Cybersecurity group defends against cyber-attacks and provides cybersecurity tools, incident response services and assessment capabilities to safeguard the environments that support the essential operations of KLA. We are passionate about identifying adversarial activities and anticipating a wide variety of threats to strengthen our defenses and the overall protection of KLA Intellectual Property.

 

Responsibilities

KLA Cybersecurity is seeking an Intern pursuing an Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, IT Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree. Students must be registered in a 4-year university and are eligible for participation in this program as long as they have one semester of school remaining, prior to graduation, upon returning to complete their studies after their internship.


Interns will have the opportunity to develop technical skills and expand their industry knowledge through hands on experience and are included in the regular daily activities within the KLA CISO Organization (i.e. staff meetings, vendor meetings (as appropriate), and technical discussions that would pertain to their area of expertise). This is a unique opportunity for Students to explore career options while gaining exposure within their discipline.

Within this internship, the Cybersecurity Intern will support the Enterprise Vulnerability Management Program by working with relevant personnel within IT to identify and track vulnerabilities, analyze approaches to mitigate vulnerabilities, and working with criticality standards and risk management standards to track open findings. Additional duties include preparing for and supporting cyber security inspections, detection and response activities.

Qualifications


 

  • Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of the field of Cybersecurity specialization.
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Previous work experience not required, but helpful.
  • Pursuit or completion of entry level Security related certification (CISSP or CEH, etc.).
  • Computer, infrastructure (full tech stack) and operating system knowledge.
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills and active listening skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality, integrity, and availability principles.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability information dissemination sources (e.g., alerts, advisories, errata, and bulletins).
  • Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Actively enrolled in University with a semester or more remaining prior to completion of degree
Registered in an accredited 4-year university

Minimum GPA of 3.0

Required Courses or Experience: Cyber Security, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Assurance or other related courses.
