The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.
The GSS organization's Engineering group develops data systems for improved diagnostics and predictive maintenance. The data systems monitor the performance of fleets of KLA test and measurement equipment in semiconductor fabrication plant environments. They collect, transform, and store data. They provide visualizations, recommendations based on analytics, and alerts. This exciting position will enable you to interact with a wide variety of engineers and KLA system data.
Develop the next generation of algorithms for improved equipment diagnostics and predictive maintenance. The position requires a proven innovative track record in one or more of the related fields of algorithm development, statistical data analysis, signal processing, and machine learning. The candidate should have a background in computational science/engineering/math/physics/statistics and be comfortable with and conversant in outlier analysis, data cleaning techniques, statistical analysis, data analytics algorithms and machine learning algorithms.
The Algorithms Scientist will work with engineering domain experts to understand problems and success criteria. The scientist will perform statistical data analysis, develop algorithms and machine learning models using Python/R, or Matlab. This includes selecting appropriate candidate analysis techniques/frameworks/algorithms and perform necessary tests and tuning. The scientist will work with engineering domain experts to evaluate the algorithm results and select the final solution. The role will closely interface with other members of Engineering, Algorithm and Application teams. The candidate should demonstrate ability to develop complex data analysis algorithms, software code that can be used for a full stack data analytics system in production, understanding of experimental data analysis, and ability to guide others in statistical data analytics/machine learning.
The scientist will be required to:interact with multi-site team members (Michigan, California, India, and Israel) during software product life cycle for requirement analysis, design, coding, integration and testing. Also to work with software, hardware, service, applications, and marketing groups as needed.
Degree in a field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Physics. Doctorate (Academic) OR Master's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience in Data Analytics and Software Engineering.
