With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. As an early adopter group, KLA's Instruments Group (IG), focuses on benchtop and non-core semiconductor metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest application development engineers to help us extend our product range and investigate new markets.

First to deliver the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time.

Instruments Group mission is to be quick to market and fast response to customer needs as an early entrant seeding markets for KLA. We are KLA in the lab, industry, and advanced Research.  

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Product Development: Characterization of next generation state-of-the art electrical characterization metrology. This includes designing test plans, collecting data, performing analysis, publishing results and recommendations in the form of applications notes, best known methods.
  • Use-case Demos: Conduct new tool demonstrations to showcase tool performance and develop use cases to help drive tool sales.
  • Customer support: Product value demonstration during beta testing, Head-to-Heads (H2H) and tools in the ramp phase, thereby enabling product penetration/adoption at customer facilities. This includes-investigating customer issues; creating & sharing product value statements and use-cases with engineering, marketing and sales groups; training customers and other applications engineers.

  • We are looking for high energy, self-driven and motivated engineers who are interested in working in High Tech.  Our benchtop space is a fast paced, high stress environment that gives applications engineers a lot of autonomy to work and drive projects on their own.  Ideal candidates appreciate the opportunity to have high levels of accountability, working well with limited supervision and thrive in a work environment where they can drive projects on their own.
  • Educational background in Engineering; Physics is desired.
  • Ability to perform complex data/image analysis using data-analysis tools.
  • A background in IC processing/Semiconductor equipment strongly desirable.
  • Teamwork is critical so having a good balance between technical skills and people skills is a must.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Candidate will be required to frequently present results to internal as well as external customers.
  • Worldwide travel (on average 15%) is required to support metrology products at customer sites.

Master's Level Degree OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
