Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineering position is located in Lowell, Massachusetts and reports directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The position has key responsibility and focus for assuring that designs of new products are thoroughly documented via CAD tools (Solid Works) and corresponding parts and Bill of Materials are created through our document control process.

Position requires someone that understands mechanical and electro-mechanical design and integration into the manufacturing process.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Meticulous attention to detail. Experience with manufacturing processes, ECO (Engineering Change Orders), creating and updating BOM’s (Bill of Materials). 
  • Experience with Design/Drafting/Detailing of new/existing electro-mechanical assemblies in Solid Works.
  • Work closely with Design Engineering to assist in designing, documenting and releasing new designs into manufacturing, utilizing DFM knowledge.
  • Work independently and ability to shift priorities based on changing internal and customer demands.
  • Good people skills are a must. Ability to work cross-functionally with all departments.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong reasoning skills and problem analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to also interpret and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience working with MRP systems.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and accurately is a must.
  • Hands-on individual contributor with strong skillset in mechanical and electronic assembly, and experience with complicated systems is a plus.
  • Self-starter and motivated, requiring minimal supervision and ability to quickly “get things done.”
  • Strong Leadership ability with the capability to leverage diverse resources, respond quickly, understand the impact of changes and decisions, facilitate agreement, build collaborative relationships and focus on customer needs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints, within a fast growing company.
  • Monitor and manage progress on projects, ensuring key requirements and milestones are met.
  • Drive cost reduction efforts (from design refinements through supplier efficiency).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to facilitate team interactions at all levels in the organization.
  •  Experience using Solid Works

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Level Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience.
