Key to supporting KLA business is the finance team that partners with corporate and global business organizations to provide expertise and guidance for developing and executing sound business models and practices.

The Finance organization consists of operations and corporate finance teams. The operations finance team influences business decisions by gathering the best available operations information, distilling it and making recommendations to our management team on the best course of action. The corporate team provides a broad range of services, such as financial planning, corporate accounting, tax, industry analysis and benchmarking, internal audits, SEC reporting and merger and acquisition support.


Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, the Assistant Corporate Controller will provide site leadership for the supporting finacne initiatives in Michigan and also functional leadership to ensure that the company accounting procedures and reporting conforms to generally accepted accounting principles. This position is accountable for the technical accounting and reporting operations of the company.

Successful candidate must be able to support the company’s strategic initiatives, new business growth, and development objectives.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Site Manager in Ann Arbor site to facilitate recruiting, onboarding, culture, deliverables and cross management support
  • Manage the SEC reporting function and be responsible for the preparation of accurate, complete and timely GAAP financial statements, footnotes and relevant disclosure. Review and reconcile GAAP as well as non-GAAP numbers.
  • Manage accounting and drive processes related to acquisitions, including valuation, SEC filings, and financial statement consolidation. Provide support for due diligence and integration processes.
  • Manage the quarter-end world-wide close and consolidation processes, close calendar, coordinating with foreign subsidiaries and various departments, and work with the internal and external auditors.
  • Manage technical accounting research, finance related policies and the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Manage stock administration function as well as accounting research for stock-based compensation and long-term Incentive compensation. Review disclosures Proxy Filing.
  • Drive quarterly balance sheet and P&L review meetings ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures and understanding key business drivers that impact financial results.


  • BS in Accounting with MBA and/or CPA and a minimum of 15 years of working experience with public, medium-sized, high-tech manufacturing companies involving complex accounting transactions
  • Previous Big 4 audit experience desired
  • Due diligence, merger/acquisition, opening balance sheet preparation and business integration accounting analysis, including acquisition integration
  • Solid understanding of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Adept leader of large and diverse teams with exceptional communication and multi-tasking organizational and motivational skills
  • Excellent communicator in technical accounting concepts and issues in verbal and written forms
  • Hands-on, hard-working, detail-oriented, high integrity professional with personable demeanor
  • Strong problem-solving skills are critical to this position.
  • Oracle / SAP experience is preferred.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience OR
  • Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 10 years of experience 
  • 5+ Years Public Accounting experience and strong technical accounting background
  • 2+ accouting experience in technology industry
