The Global Real Estate and Facilities group is a corporate organization that is responsible for the management of all leased and owned property domestically and internationally.  The US Facilities group provides strategic and tactical space planning, construction project management, facilities engineering, facilities and security operations, and site services for the domestic US. 



KLA Corporation is investing heavily in Ann Arbor, Michigan, building a beautiful 230,000 square-foot research and development campus set to open in 2021. We now require a seasoned Facilities professional to run all aspects of operation at this location.  This position is unique to which the facilities manager will be brought in early to assist in the development and construction of this new facility while managing our temporary site.

The facilities manager is responsible to create, implement, and manage facilities projects and services by serving as the primary point of contact and liaison for technical services and suppliers.  This hands-on position requires the following responsibilities:

  • The leadership, direction, and performance of all on-site Facilities suppliers such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, janitorial, cafeteria services, security, etc. 
  • Create and manage the structure of the local facilities organization
  • Selection of a single Facilities maintenance and operations integrator
  • Select and manage suppliers using KPI’s and conducting QBR’s
  • Manage the growth of the team as the Facility expands
  • Drive compliance to environmental and certification compliance such as ISO, customer audits, etc.
  • Conform with Federal and local regulations

Other responsibilities would include:

  • Sustainability reporting
  • Maintain as-built drawings and equipment manuals 
  • Any other related duties


  • Applicant should possess excellent written and verbal skills, strong attention to detail, and a focus on customer service
  • Knowledge and experience in project and supplier management is critical
  • Able to work independently and meet schedules while working in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in construction project management from ground up construction to small TI’s
  • Knowledge in building management systems
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Customer focused by responding promptly and appropriately to customer requests and understanding business needs
  • Ability to set goals and lead a team to success
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approx. 20%

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in facilities management or related field such as engineering, architecture, or business, or equivalent in experience.   Minimum of 10 years of experience.
