Sr. Software Engineer Manager (High Performance Computing (HPC)/ Parallel Computing/Distributed Computing)

Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes.    

BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.

 

Responsibilities

This role requires a solid SW architect skill with strong management experiment,  who is well versed in the software development, organized, detail oriented and able to deliver results on-time and within budget.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manages a group of software engineers
  • Solid experience on parallel computing and distributed computing required
  • Leads design teams to resolve complex problems for released systems, typically assigned issues with high customer visibility and impact on the success of the product.
  • Provides thought leadership regarding system design, architecture, and integration. Mentors and leads project teams in the appropriate use of technology
  • Works effectively with cross functional groups to define the software requirements of complex systems and major products. 
  • Contributes to the next generation technical roadmap and development, is responsible for evaluation and implementation of the latest available technologies, develops concepts and designs for the next generation system
  • Responsible for evaluation and implementation of the latest available technologies by providing detailed analysis and tradeoffs for the various solutions, and selecting the best available solution to implement.
  • Provides significant input to the top level software specifications broken down into interfaces, while considering reliability, performance, and fault handling for optimum hardware/software integration.
  • Initiates and drives complex team-oriented efforts that affect architectural, and customer-level issues. Effectively Communicates to all levels of the division and with the various inter-divisional engineering groups.
  • Serves as owner in all areas of software performance on complex systems, plans and leads experiments that are part of feasibility studies required to make major software architecture decisions on complex products.
  • Technical Leadership role, needs to Influence decision making without hierarchical reporting.
  • Designs Software for testability, which enables seamless creation of automated test suites.

Qualifications

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Significant experience as SW Architect in complex product environment
  • Hands-on knowledge in C++ and Java, OOD, OOP, C#, Dot.Net, Windows, Linux System
  • Hands-on knowledge of architectural frameworks, trade-off analysis, architectural modeling …
  • Prefer solid knowledge on image processing and optics
  • Experience in SW/HW systems integration is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience with specialization in providing technical leadership in large scale SW systems development
  • 5+ years of experience on people management

 Preferred

  • Experience in semiconductor industry
  • Experience in inspection system
  • Ph.D or MS in CS / EE / Maths / Physics or related areas 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 7 years of experience. OR Master's Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience. OR Doctorate (Academic) with at least 5 years of experience.
