Senior Manager, Global Logistics

Group/Division

KLA has manufacturing sites across the globe, including Belgium, China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and Milpitas (CA).  The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation, and Quality, is responsible for manufacturing our leading-edge technology.  We partner with our world-wide supply base and our design engineering teams to bring new products to market.  The GOPS team is continuously working to build our products Better, Faster, Cheaper.

Responsibilities

Global Logistics is responsible for managing and setting strategy for warehouse and distribution for global service parts network.  This includes managing third party logistics providers, transportation providers and reverse logistics.  Role includes staff located in US and Singapore with indirect reports across Asia and Europe.  Role includes optimizing operations in warehouse and freight to balance customer commitments with cost targets.  Works closely with spares planning, quality and operations to capture logistics requirements and/or opportunities to support a cohesive and successful supply chain.   Knowledge of WMS, SAP, EDI to manage $300M inventory. Important aspect of the role is to stay in tune with sales and marketing to understand future customer requirements and adjust accordingly.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management, 3PL partnership
  • Air Cargo capacity planning, negotiations
  • Freight Invoice Audit and Payment
  • Financial forecasting and tracking
  • Track/improve metrics like OTD, DTS, Cycle Time, etc
  • Manage communication regarding customer targets and logistics commitments
  • Reverse Logistics Management
  • Inventory management – aging, intransit, physical inventory, on hand balance discrepancies
  • Analytics for OTD, regional vs HQ costs

Qualifications

Hard skills:

  • 10 years in supply chain operations with minimum of 5 years in leadership role driving service or supply chain improvements in complex manufacturing environment; strong preference for experience in semiconductor equipment industry or other complex, high-mix, low-volume products
  •  Experience managing in supply chain operations, including:
    • Purchasing, inventory management, and logistics
    • Process oriented, Strong data and analytical skills, business acumen
    • Achieving cost reductions; work effectively with Finance on gross margin and P&L improvements
  • Strong business acumen, leadership and people management skills
  • Proven success in developing, delegating to, and empowering staff

Soft skills:

  •  Motivated by curiosity and continuous improvement
  •  Change agent experienced proposing and selling new ideas and challenging traditions
  • Ability to use data to influence, persuade, and secure buy-in for improvement initiatives
  •  Ability to work well in a highly matrixed environment
  •  Experienced working effectively with internal team, customers, and strategic technical suppliers
  •  Strategic thinker; demonstrated experience in taking objectives and converting them into actionable plans (e.g. cost reductions, etc.)
  • Creative, innovative and resourceful with a passion for speed, agility, simplification and proactive action
  • Concise and impactful written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience OR
  • Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 7 years of experience OR
  • Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience
