With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.
The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes.
BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.
This position will explore research, development and systems integration of novel HPC architectures to enable ultra-high performance of real time image processing techniques for very high bandwidth streaming data. The ideal candidate should have an MS or PhD in HPC architectures, familiarity with hardware data flow architectures and working knowledge of both SIMD & GP-GPU architectures with programming skills using CUDA, OpenMP, java, C/C++.
The job involves design, implementation and system integration of HPC solutions for wafer inspection tools. The candidate will have to understand how wafer inspection algorithms are implemented and work with the team to figure out how to reduce the cost of the HPC by leveraging the cost/performance advantages of a system using GPU.
Full stack development & optimization is desired, so a willingness to explore and suggest alternate, more GPU friendly, algorithms to accomplish a given task is a plus as is the ability to recognize when a given algorithm step should be left on the CPU.
Doctorate (Academic) with post-doctoral work in application performance tuning/optimizations
Master's Level Degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
