Senior Engineering Contract Recruiter (Onsite only)


KLA has an opportunity for a Contract Engineering Recruiter to work in our Milpitas, California campus.  We seek a Recruiter who shares our passion for finding and hiring hard-to-find talent that is behind KLA’s market-leading technology.

The selected individual will provide recruiting and sourcing support for various engineering positions.  Technical positions may include recruiting for engineers of different disciplines to include, but not limited to optical engineers, various mechanical engineers, software engineers, system engineers, electrical design engineers, research scientists, applications engineers, and manufacturing design engineers.  This individual may likely support other groups, such as manufacturing operation and SG&A roles.

  • Manage full lifecycle recruiting for assigned requisitions
  • Function as a talent advisor to the assigned business groups and drive success by establishing/developing effective partnerships with the respective business groups, operating with a high sense of urgency, and delivering exceptional client service
  • Partner with senior leadership and HR partners (Business Partners, Compensation/Benefits, HR Operations, etc.) to accomplish hiring goals
  • Play an active role in sourcing and establishing, developing, and engaging with talent pipelines using creative and structured approaches
  • Create and ensure positive experiences for hired and non-hired candidates; serve as a candidate advocate
  • Learn ATS and track all work in ATS system
  • Screen, qualify, and interview candidates for assigned positions
  • Manage efficient interview processes for hiring teams and prospective applicants
  • Formulate recruiting strategies by translating technical requirements into sourcing strategies/plans and executing against those plans
  • Continually innovate on new sourcing strategies to attract potential candidates for open position requirements
  • Partner and collaborate with sourcing team to align on search requirements and provide guidance necessary to fill positions
  • Qualify and present potential candidate resumes to Hiring Managers with the goal of adding value to the selection process
  • Oversee scheduling and logistics of all interviews between candidates and hiring teams
  • Negotiate compensation and terms, drive approval process, and present/close offer of employment to selected candidates; includes handling all administrative due diligence to properly onboard candidates
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation on all candidates, searches, Hiring Managers interactions, and other recruiting activities to ensure a safe and thorough audit, if required
  • Maintain timely and effective communications with all partners throughout the recruiting process including communication with candidates
  • Participate in recruitment career fairs to identify potential candidates
  • Propose and participate in recruiting initiatives


  • BS/BA degree and 3+ years of experience in full lifecycle recruiting or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Prefer broad experience recruiting for engineering talent in technology manufacturer; experience semiconductor capital equipment industry strongly preferred, as is experience recruiting optical engineers, systems engineers, mechanical engineers (opto-mech and precision engineering), software developers, applications engineers, and technical managers.
  • Sufficient knowledge of full lifecycle recruiting components including, but not limited to, job analysis, sourcing strategies, qualifying candidates against position requirements, knowledge of local compensation trends, relationship management, selling and closing candidates, knowledge of mobility and immigration requirements, and driving offers based on multiple factors
  • Previous experience using a consultative approach to understand candidate needs, motivation, and values, while meeting Hiring Managers’ objectives to hire the best talent
  • Must be able to manage competing demands, accept criticism and constructive feedback, while being extremely adaptable and flexible
  • Must be a problem solver and have demonstrated experience finding innovative and out-of-the-box solutions to issues for win-win outcomes
  • Must be a collaborative teammate who is willing to help the team achieve goals and successful results
  • Previous experience with applicant tracking systems or social media recruitment tools (PeopleSoft, LinkedIn Recruiter, Jobvite Engage, etc.)
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office product suite
  • Comfortable cold calling and sourcing from various networks, online resources, social media sites, and professional associations; advanced user of Boolean logic preferred; AIRS certification a plus
  • Must be a quick learner with good project management, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit on a national, multi-location level, as well as globally.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Exceptional work ethic with strong personal initiative; must be driven by results
  • Possess aptitude to learn and understand various technical search requirements and convert into search strategies and plans with emphasis on execution
