The Office of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) plays a critical role in developing advanced long-range technology in collaboration with product divisions and strategic marketing, working on future technology like light sources, lasers, and sensors. We are engaged in the research and development process, and once the technology is mature, we partner with product engineering groups who then build products based on the technology we’ve developed.

The Office of the CTO also provides technical input into KLA-Tencor’s strategic planning process, program reviews and Product Life Cycle (PLC) phases. We provide our broad technology expertise and cross-division experience to ensure we leverage the collective knowledge within our company.



The R&D manager responsibilites include:

  • Manage engineeris and scientists to develop and test a variety of laser projects, test fixtures for lasers and sensors, photo-contramination metrology, etc.as part of CTO branch in Singapore
  • Timely hire great talent in support of the CTO branch priorities 
  • Technical capability to mange laser, electronics, firmware and opto-electronic projects
  • Understanding of semiconductor industry specifics, preferably by having prior experience with optical tools (metrology, inspection, scanners)
  • Ability to manage priorities, schedules, and to develop and communicate vision and specific plans
  • Ability to foster a collaborative and team environment between direct reports and other colleagues in CTO Milipitas, GOPS and GSS


Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be experinced with DUV laser design and manufacturing process
  • Must be experinced with utilization ad characterization of harmonic generation crystals
  • Must be familiar with photo-contamination control and best practices
  • Must be a team player with good written and communication skills
  • Must have management experince with semiconductor capital equipment
  • MS in engineering or scientific field with >13 years of experience or,
  • PhD in enginneering or scientific feild with >10 years of experince
