Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design and manufacturing, KLA-Tencor's Measurement, Analytics, and Control group (MACH) is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.
The MACH team's mission is to collaborate with our customers to innovate technologies and solutions that detect and control highly complex process variations—at their source—rather than compensate for them at later stages of the manufacturing process.
With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA-Tencor to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Our MACH team develops leading-edge solutions for patterning process analytics and control technologies, thereby providing customers with critical insight at the feature level, field level, and across wafer. Our teams also develop advanced simulation models, data analytics, and process control technologies.

This job opening is in KLA-Tencor’s MACH RDC (Reticle Decision Center) Product group. The RDC team develops and supports advanced software applications that leading-edge mask-shops and wafer fab customers worldwide use in their production flows to get best productivity and yield from their mask inspection, review and repair tools and even design tapeouts.
The Field Applications Engineer working in the RDC team will be working closely with customer engineers and division software and algorithm development teams to provide software and algorithmic solutions that resolve customer problems. The Applications Engineer may be located close to the customer site and expected to be at customer site >75% of his/her time, and travel 10-15% of the time to other customer sites. RDC Taiwan customers are located in HsinChu, Taichung, Tainan, and Linco
The Field Applications Engineer will be responsible for the following:
To achieve satisfactory results, the Applications Engineer is expected to work closely with many other functional groups in MACH including R&D, Engineering, Sales and Marketing. When working closely with external customer engineers; the Applications Engineer must represent KLA-Tencor in a professional manner that will build trust and long lasting working relationships.
Bachelors level degree in a technical field with at least 6 years of experience in Mask, OPC or EDA industry
Masters level degree in a technical field with at least 4 years of experience in Mask, OPC or EDA industry
Doctorate (Academic) in a technical field with at least 2 years of experience in Mask, OPC or EDA industry
The individual must have excellent communication, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills. The individual must also be self-driven, yet a strong team player.
The individual must be able to communicate in English and Mandarin through email, conference calls and face-to-face meetings.
Experience in UNIX/Linux, MATLAB and scripting in Shell, Python, Perl, PHP, or HTML is desirable.
