With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA-Tencor to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA-Tencor's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA-Tencor’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.


  • Maintain and coordinate daily schedules, prioritizes system usage, and support all functions of the tool which include weekly health checks, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, system calibrations, SW/HW upgrades, revision control, testing, debugging and data analysis of measured performance. 
  • Complete the initial diagnosis of any system issues. 
  • Must have knowledge and experience to effectively work with experts in optics, lasers, stage, loader, image compute, algorithms to actively assist in resolving the issues. 
  • Function as a key contributor in design reviews during the engineering/ alpha builds and test phases of programs, which includes testing against the design tolerances and the marketing specifications of a product release. 
  • Prepare the first draft of the system alignment, calibration and troubleshooting diagnostics.  Train service and manufacturing employees. 
  • May be required to travel to customer sites to efficiently and effectively resolve technical issues during and after product release.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating, repairing, and maintaining electron beam systems for wafer or mask inspection.
  • Knowledgeable with scanning electron beam systems for wafer/mask review and or inspection.
  • Understanding of vacuum systems, contamination control, electron beam optics and wafer and or mask handling. 
  • Must be able to complete precision complex assembly and perform test protocols to validate performance.   

Minimum Qualifications

  •  Doctorate (Academic) OR
  • Master's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience OR
  • Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience
