The Information Technology (IT) group at KLA-Tencor is involved in every aspect of the global business. We are looking to hire an IT Information Security Director to drive the strategy and implementation of a company-wide information security management program.

This person will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and monitoring a global security program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected.

The Information Security Director must be a leader in the field of IT and Information security have sound business management skills and technical knowledge of information security and IT technologies. This position will work with various KLA-Tencor business units to implement practices that meet defined policies and standards for information security.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and monitor a strategic, comprehensive enterprise information security program
  • Manage the enterprise's information security organization, consisting of direct and indirect reports
  • Drive information security projects and Initiatives
  • Monitor vulnerabilities and threats as well as lead and manage the Incident Response process
  • Evaluate information security technologies
  • Engage with KLA-Tencor partners and stakeholders on security-related matters
  • Develop, maintain and publish information security policies, standards and guidelines; oversee the approval, training, and dissemination of security policies and practices.
  • Provide regular reporting on the status of the information security program to both IT management and company executives


Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security roles; at least 4 years in a management role
  • Relevant experience managing security for companies that leverage advanced technologies
  • Technical knowledge in network and security area
  • Understanding of IT architecture
  • Excellent written a verbal communication skills - ability to communicate security an risk-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in developing information security policies and procedures
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, such as Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Strong project and program management skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a technology-related field, or equivalent work experience is a plus
  • Work in Engineering environment, especially in Semiconductor
  • Experience with technologies like Splunk, Palo Alto Networks etc.
  • Experience in developing DLP solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Academia)  with at least 7 years of experience OR
  • Master's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience OR
  • Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 9 years of experience
