Group/Division

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Product Training, and Technical Support.  The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Responsibilities

 

  1. Responsible for providing technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging complex electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems and/or complex software.
  2. Reports design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering.
  3. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  4. Very adept at 7-step trouble-shooting, including driving learning and standardization where appropriate.
  5. Around 5% Global Travel and 30% Domestic Travel.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  1. KNOWLEDGE:
    1. Strong communication, presentation, technical, analytical and data analysis skills is required.
    2. Optics, electro/mechanical equipment, sophisticated computer systems, software systems/applications, networking systems skill.
    3.  Must able to diagnose problems through analysis of Inspection Reports, system log files, parametric diagnostic results and use of test equipment.
  2. JOB COMPLEXITY:
    1. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.  
  3. SUPERVISION:
    1. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
  4. EXPERIENCE:
    1. Masters with 5+ years, or Bachelors with 7+ years’ experience.
    2. Education or working experience of semiconductor.
    3. Education or working experience of  Optics.
    4. KLA-Tencor OMD working experience.
