Group/Division

Central Engineering is KLA-Tencor's largest engineering organization comprised of 9 Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. These CoE include Handling & Automation, Precision Motion Control, Sensors & Image Acquisition, Platform Design, and Packaging Engineering, among others. Talent includes over 500 engineers across global centers in Israel, China, India, and the US. Each CoE contributes not just talent and deliverables per discipline toward product programs, but also subject matter expertise, best practices, roadmaps, specialized facilities, apparatus, models, and analytics. These differentiate KLA-Tencor not only in WHAT we do, but also in HOW we do it.

Responsibilities

  • Designs electrical parts, modules and subsystems to support the design of whole systems.
  • Responsible for the complete design process, including requirements specification, feasibility studies, cost and scheduling, conducting various analysis (such as circuit, timing, thermal/cooling, electrical loads), Thermal/cooling controls (thermal modeling, control circuits, PID tuning), PLC programming (ie Siemens, Allen Bradley) and FPGA modeling, conceptual and detailed design using design tools (ie OrCAD, PSpice, Xilinx/Altera FPGA /EPLD development systems, etc...), detailed drawings, design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing.  These tasks will require working with other engineering groups such as mechanical software, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure flawless integration and test at the subsystem and system level.
  • Develop the required supporting documentation, such as assembly and test procedures, and service manuals.
  • Work closely with and manages suppliers to ensure all design requirements are specified and achieved.
  • Address and resolve product issues thru the product phases. Has strong leadership, communication and problem solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PLC Programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
  • Controls expert  (Thermal/Cooling modeling, Control circuits, PID Tuning)
  • FPGA modeling
  • MATLAB, Python, LabView

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Level Degree OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 1 years of experience.
