The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.


RAPID Engineering team provides technology, architecture, and business solutions for next generation mask inspection systems. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide product design and engineering process leadership for multi-functional product development teams. 
  • Leverage existing product lifecycle processes, and adapt them to the unique needs of the program. 
  • Lead a small but experienced team to support system trades at lower levels in the tool.
  • As the lead system engineer, you will define the top level system specifications, allocate requirements to the subsystems, calculate the system error budget, define and resolve interfaces and working parameters for the optimum hardware/software performance of the tool.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to the predicted tool performance to find areas for system improvement.
  • Apply logical and systematic conversions of the customer and market requirements in order to define this tool’s required operating point.
  • Document trades that have taken place to ensure that future design modifications and upgrades do not violate the chosen operating point within the overall trade space. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer a Master's Level Degree with at least 10 years of experience designing and managing teams to develop complex electro-optical subsystems and systems for production environments.

  • Experience in multiple development cycles resulting in successful market introduction of production systems. 

  • Demonstrate deep technical understanding and knowledge of product architectures and development processes, preferably in mask/wafer inspection or similar systems.  
  • In a high-energy, collaborative environment, must be able to interface effectively with all functional engineering managers, program managers, marketing, applications, manufacturing, field service and customers. 
  • Able to lead globally distributed multifunctional teams with accountability to divisional management for program success. 
  • Able to establish technical credibility with engineering team, field team, and customers, with the ability to dive deeply into technical issues as warranted.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate (Academic) with at least 5 years of experience OR
  • Master's Level Degree with at least 7 years of experience OR
  • Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience
